Dyson Hair Science
Challenge: Dyson were looking to engage with new and existing followers through their social media channels as part of a larger marketing campaign for their Supersonic hairdryer. The communication had to work without audio and be appropriate for Dyson’s global audience.
Solution: We produced a series of animations that explained the science behind hair. By combining Dyson’s existing technical drawing style with some amazing facts about hair we produced a set of three films that have garnered over 23,000 views on Instagram.
The first stage of the process was idea generation and storyboarding. This was a really collaborative process with Dyson Personal Care’s creative team, and they had a vision for the first film which we used as a guide to create the films that followed. We produced animatics to get a feel for the pace and rhythm of the films, before working with one of our talented freelance partners to provide the motion graphics.
